About Me

Joel Beck is a lawyer and the founder of The Beck Law Firm, LLC. Joel represents broker-dealers, registered representatives and investment advisers in regulatory investigations and proceedings, industry and customer arbitrations, and other legal matters. Joel also represents investors in claims of broker misconduct from time to time. Though financial markets law represents the majority of his practice, Joel also assists clients with business formation and business law issues, basic estate planning, and has recently began handling select criminal defense matters.

Prior to opening The Beck Law Firm, Joel worked at NASD for 10 years, including six years as an attorney in the Enforcement Department. There, Joel litigated cases involving penny stock fraud, misrepresentations and omissions of material facts, unsuitable recommendations, unauthorized trading, forgery, and other violations. Joel earned his BBA at Georgia Southern University and his JD at John Marshall Law School, Atlanta, where he graduated with honors and was a recipient of the West Publishing Company Award for Academic Excellence. In 2005, after completing coursework over a three-year period, Joel earned the designation of Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional from the NASD Institute and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania (he does not maintain that designation as active). Joel left NASD in 2007 and opened The Beck Law Firm, LLC.
